Hi there,

I hope you’re doing well.

I wanted to share our newest episode of History’s Most Dangerous Katana with you.

This one is about the blade itself: how a deliberate replica (not a fake) gained its own identity, its own legend, and eventually a following the original never drew.

And —there is a twist of the story with a video game connection: in 2015, Touken Ranbu turned historic swords into characters, and Yamanbagiri Kunihiro became the very first blade for countless players.

That single pop-culture spark helped drive a real-world wave of museum visitors and renewed attention to the sword.

As always, thank you for being part of this journey. Your support truly means a lot.

Kind Regards,

Kei, Matt & Team from the History of Katana
